It's surprising to see how many Note 7 users aren't fazed by the phone's explosion controversy. In fact, most of these people aren't very happy about Samsung's decision to do a total discontinuation of the phablet. The Note 7 is undeniably a good phone. However, it's also undeniably dangerous. Needless to say, Samsung made the right decision. The only problem is that Note 7 users need to find themselves a good alternative. While many non-Note users would suggest the new iPhones as alternatives, not a lot of Note 7 fans might agree.
iPhone 7 As Note 7 Alternative
The main reason why Note 7 users aren't fond of the new iPhones is the fact that the iOS-based phone is way too different from Samsung's phablet. Not only are they running different operating systems, their size difference is also hard to deny. The display quality of the two phones is also way too dissimilar, making the shift from one phone to another dramatically unpleasant. Take note that as per GSM Arena's sheet, the Note 7 boasts of its 518 pixels per inch density while the iPhone 7 just has 326 pixels per inch density on its display. Sure, the iPhone 7 has all the other extras that the Note 7 doesn't have but shifting from one phone to a completely different device clearly poses a big problem for users.
The Note 7's stylus is also among the main reasons why people are having a hard time giving up their recalled devices. It's already hard to find a good Note 7 alternative in the Android division, taking your chance at the iOS category might only bring in more disappointment. This is why even though the iPhone 7 is one of the most premium phones of 2016, it doesn't necessarily make a good substitute for the Note 7. It's actually the adjustment to the transition that brings in the problem. The iPhone 7 itself is a good phone, but as an alternative to the Samsung phablet, it may not do a good job.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Practical Alternatives
While waiting for a new phablet to come out of Samsung's doors you can just settle for the next best things. The first thing that comes to mind is the Note 5. Obviously, it's the nearest thing to the Note 7 that you can get this year. The only problem with this idea is if you're actually coming from the Note 5 and are looking to upgrade. If so, the second next-best-thing you can get as a Galaxy Note 7 replacement is the Galaxy S7 Edge. While its lack of a stylus is a bit of a downer, it's still as good as a performer as the Note 7.
If you're just looking to get by until a new Note successor comes out, it is also pretty recommended to go for affordable Androids instead. You don't have to go midrange, you just have to compromise the "premium" feels. The OnePlus 3 and ZTE Axon 7 are two of the best non-expensive Androids on the market right now, and they are hundreds of dollars cheaper than Samsung and Apple's devices.
