Samsung Galaxy S4 remains to be the most anticipated smartphone for the upcoming year of exciting gadgetry because of its highly successful previous version - Galaxy S3. Several rumors are doing the rounds on the speculated date of release and its specifications. The latest industry talks suggest that the device will see an April release and that Samsung is working on a quad-core processor that could power its next-generation Galaxy S4 handset.
According to initial speculations, Samsung was expected to release Galaxy S4 at Mobile World Congress in 2013. However, analyzing the huge popularity of the product, it seemed like Samsung will hold a dedicated event for the launch of its next flagship device. However, Sam Mobile then came up with some interesting insider news citing a "Samsung source" who confirmed an April release for the product and said the Galaxy S4 project is codenamed "Project J."
According to an Android Community report, Samsung's own Kernel Git page has confirmed that it is working on a speedier processor - a brand new Exynos 5250 dual-core processor powering the Nexus 10 tablet, which will power the upcoming Galaxy S4 handset. Exynos 5250 is exceptionally fast, efficient and powerful and it is the only production mobile processor currently based on the Cortex-A15. The smartphone manufacture recently updated its Kernel Git page with multiple patches to support the new processor named the Exynos 5440.
The next generation Galaxy S4 is speculated to feature a flexible display. According to a recent BBC report, Samsung is working on a razor-thin, paper-like and bendable handset that a user can roll up, drop, step on or squish in a backpack without any damage. Although numerous companies are working on the project including LG, Philips, Sharp, Sony and Nokia, the South Korean smartphone maker is expected to be the first to deliver it with its Galaxy S4. "Their screens will be foldable, rollable, wearable and more, [and] will allow for a high degree of durability through their use of a plastic substrate that is thinner, lighter and more flexible than... conventional LCD technology," a Samsung spokesperson was quoted in the report.
Other rumors suggest that Galaxy S4 will feature a 4.99-inch 1080p HD display, a quad-core processor, 13 megapixel camera and hopefully Android 4.3 Key Lime Pie (or 5.0) and more all of these will create Samsung's "most powerful" smartphone ever which is most like to use LTE networks.
