The first batch of DLC for Dark Souls 3 has just released recently and it comes with new wares for players to find and uncover. Ashes are one of the best rewards that Dark Souls 3 players can get from the game. However, Ashes of Ariandel are only for those players who are willing to risk their limbs and lives for new loots and exploring the perilous place where the Captain's Ashes is located past the game's main area.
Ashes of Ariandel Tips: Finding The Captain's Ashes
In the new DLC released for Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel, you can only access the new wares once you find the Captain's Ashes and return it to the Shrine Handmaiden. Finding the ashes is actually easy. The only problem is the dangerous path where enemies lurk around out of sight. But with some good strategy that we will share from here and a little patience, you will be able to unlock the secret items that come with Captain's Ashes from the Ashes of Ariandel.
Ashes of Ariandel Tips: Captain Ashes' Rewards
When you get the Captain's Ashes, you will get special and cool armors. One of these is the 3 Embers with an equivalent of 2,500 Souls. The Millwood Knight Helm, Millwood Night Gauntlets and Millwood Knight Leggings has an equivalent of 5,000 Souls each. The highest is the Millwood Knight Armor with 8,500 souls. On the other hand, the Millwood Great Arrow only has 800 Souls. But of course, you have to get the Captain's Ashes first to get all these. Here's a step by step process of how you can do that.
Ashes of Ariandel Tips: Forest Journey
To begin your journey to Ashes of Ariandel, you have to spawn at the first available bonfire that you will see. After that, head to the right until the area below collapses and brings you into the forest. Once you get there, do not forget to hug the right wall. This is important to keep your scent off from a pack of hungry wolves or they will definitely chase you down. Go until you reach the edge of the wall, run as fast as you can to the left side. You will see a small path with an entrance located along the cliff. As long you run fast, you can outrun the wolves that will be chasing you up to the entrance.
Ashes of Ariandel Tips: Ruined Tower
Once you get into the entrance, you should see a ruined tower at the far side. That tower is where you will find the Captain's Ashes. But before you get there, you have to face a horde of giant Vikings with hungry wolves to match. Kill the wolves first then fight the Vikings. Beware though because there are archers stationed in the tower. The best advice? Take cover as much as you can so you will not end up dead with an arrow.
Ashes of Ariandel Tips: Knock Off The Tower Guards
Upon reaching the tower, be prepared to meet the guard upstairs. Do not try to fight him inside his territory but bring him out for a fight. The best way for you to kill the guard is to engineer his fall down below the stairs so you can race back up the stairs and ladders. But your fight will not end there. There is another archer chilling by the Tower edge. Do everything you can do knock him off. Do not waste your Flasks and fight him. Just use magic, a kick, or backstab him.
Ashes of Ariandel Tips: Get The Captain's Ashes
Once you knock off the guard, you can continue upward. You will be prompted to go and walk along the scaffolding placed outside. Climb up the ladder until you see two items. One of these items is none other than the Captain's Ashes. But given the narrow beam of the scaffolding, be very careful lest you fall. Walk slowly and grab both items. Go back to the Shrine the way you first went and turn the items you grabbed to the Handmaiden.
So what are you waiting for? Get your Nord on by picking up these cool new items. As the new armor set for Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel, having all these rewards from Captain's Ashes would be another great addition to your gear.
