A Ukrainian man changed his name in order to get the latest Apple´s mobile device and enjoy the greatness of this incredible smartphone. The oddest part is that his new name is the same his new phone, since the man is now named iPhone 7, after an electronics store offered the handset to the first five people who were willing to go that far.
Friends And Family Supported Him
Of course, things might not be so bad for the Ukrainian man after all, since he explained that he could change his name once again in short time so the oddity that this situation represents wouldn't last too long. According to the Washington Post, the 20-year old Ukrainian man´s original name is Olexander Turin, and he changed it to iPhone Sim (Seven) to get the smartphone on Friday.
Far from being reprehended by his friends or family for taking this awkward decision, the oddest fact about this situation is that they actually supported the idea, after feeling a little bit shocked when they knew that Olexander was now called as one of the most popular mobile devices on earth.
"It was difficult to accept that and hard to believe it's true. Each person in this world is looking for a way to express himself. Why not to do that in this way?" his sister Tetyana Panina said to the Washington Post.
This Is Not The First Time
According to the International Business Times, what the Ukrainian man did is not the first time than an Apple fan goes crazy over the iPhone, since a 30-year-old man called Tom Thaphaengphan travelled all the way from Bangkok to Sidney to be one of the first people in the world to own one of these smartphones, having to wait in a cold and rainy queue for hours.
Although many could think that the Ukrainian men could have waste a lot of money in this bizarre endeavor, the truth is that he actually didn't have to, giving the fact the iPhone 7 is available for purchase starting $850 in Ukraine, while the name change cost only $2.
