"Code Black" season 2 is not currently the most popular show on CBS but it has its many fans. One of the main characters of the show is Marcia Gay Harden, an Oscar award winner. She plays the role of Dr. Leanne Rorish, as Director of Emergency Medicine at Angels Memorial Hospital. The show welcomed a new addition to the cast, the very popular Rob Lowe.
Diversities And Racism Are Topics Discussed In The Show's Promotional Tours
The different races among the cast are one of the things that attracted the audience to "Code Black" season 2. Melanie Chandra is an example. She is an American of Indian descent and plays the role of Dr. Malaya Pineda a sophomore year resident at the hospital, and also a lesbian.
Chandra has spoken lately of her character in the show. "You'd be surprised how many people reach out to me on social media saying that my character has inspired them, whether it's to come out to their parents or to pursue their dreams in life," she said in an interview with Parade. She is also happy that many young Indian Americans are looking at her example and being inspired by her to pursue careers in acting.
The Producers Of The Show Took A Gamble
The showrunners of "Code Black" season 2 took a gamble when they renewed the show. The first episode lets go of two popular characters. When fans tuned in for season 2, they didn't know what to expect. One of the surprises is the addition of "The West Wing" actor Rob Lowe. For sure, fans will be delighted with his presence in the show.
