Pokemon Go Update: You May Have Stopped Playing Pokemon Go But It’s Still Okay To Keep It In Your Phones

It has been four months since I started joining the Pokemon Go bandwagon and guess what, I'm totally bored the heck out of it. There's no more excitement, well except if I spot a Pokemon that's not tagged in my Pokedex as 'captured'.

Anyway, the reason I am writing this article is that there are lots of people who rant about the game, writing up long lists on why they quit, and here I am, I still have my Pokemon Go in my phone, with no plans of deleting it anytime soon. I started to lose interest about the AR game a couple of months ago when I reached level 21 and sort of got stuck in there, I just got to 22 so it means it took me that long to level up. So here I am, trying to write an article about it, trying to interview myself on the next paragraphs.

Why do I still keep Pokemon Go in my phone even if I'm not playing it that often?

Pokemon Go is a casual game, there's that. I only pick it up when I'm not doing anything that needs a lot of attention like waiting for someone or walking my dog or commuting as passenger (do not drive and play Pokemon Go, ok?). The game also serves as a good way to pass time when you're falling in line at the grocery or the bank.

Second, I still have lots of unregistered Pokemon on my Pokedex, one of my major goals is to get a Snorlax, until now I don't have one. This goes to show that I don't walk around that often just to catch Pokemon. I just open Pokemon Go when I can in malls, parks, and other places that I'm not usually in.

Third, there are Pokemon gyms and PokeStops that itch your fingers. So, when I spot one along my route while walking or it's just right there when I'm falling in line or sitting in a restaurant, then why not go have some battle? Takes out the boredom of waiting too.

The thing is, the game is still nice to have around, even though it is quite frustrating why I am now stuck at 22. The level progress requirement is just so darn high that if you're not serious about playing it, your level goes stagnant after 20.

Any reactions on seasonal the promotions?

I have to say, what Niantic did for Pokemon Go during Halloween was great, I have increased my capture log in my Pokedex since creepy Pokemon have been abundant for over a few days. It also was a good idea since I saw lots of moms and dads playing Pokemon Go while escorting their kids for trick or treat. I just hope they'd paid enough attention to their little ones. For all we know, seasonal Promotions might be the only gimmick currently saving the game's butt.

Are you planning to keep Pokemon Go in your phone for a long time?

Pokemon Go isn't demanding when it comes to disk space, so why not? Even though I won't be playing it that much for months to come, I'd bet Niantic would try ways to convince people like me to pick up the phone again and start running the game. Also, I'm still waiting for my Pokedex to be filled up. Anyways, look at these people, I bet most of them are still playing Pokemon Go.
