Affordable smartphones may not make headlines often but that doesn't mean that your choice for less expensive phones is limited. In fact, there are a lot of great smartphone deals on the market. Most of these smartphones have low-end specs, but there's also a number of powerful smartphones that don't necessarily carry high price tags. Here are some:
Xiaomi Mi 5s
Priced at around $300, the Xiaomi Mi 5S gives you more than what you pay for. It is a 5.15 inch Android phone that is powered by this year's most powerful Snapdragon processor and boasts of its 3D Touch display. It runs Marshmallow from the box but it has a sufficient RAM size of 4 GB. It also includes a 12 MP rear camera, 4 MP front camera and a 3200 mAh battery.
OnePlus 3
The OnePlus 3 is priced at $399 and it's arguably more powerful than most expensive Androids. It has 6 GB RAM, Snapdragon 820 processor, 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. It also includes a sufficient 3000 mAh battery. OnePlus has been known for its flagship-killer smartphones and the OnePlus 3 does just that. It kills the hype for expensive flagships with its half-the-price offer and super powerful internals.
Motorola Moto G4
As per Motorola's site, the Moto G4 starts at $199.99. This 5.5 inch mobile phone runs Android Marshmallow from the box but it is also bound to get the Nougat update soon. For a small price like that, you can get a Snapdragon 617 powered smartphone with 2 GB RAM, 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. It also boasts of its 3000 mAh battery.
ZTE Axon 7
The ZTE Axon 7 costs around $399, Tech Radar reported. It is also a 5.5 inch Android phone that is powered by Snapdragon 820. It boasts of its bright and vivid display and its 20 MP/8MP camera combo. Just like the other phones listed here, the ZTE Axon 7 is also equipped with a huge battery, 3250 mAh to be exact. It has 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM, and a 256GB capacity microSD slot.
Apple iPhone SE
If you want an iOS-running smartphone, the iPhone SE is the most affordable and newest smartphone you can get. It was released March 2016 and while it looks pretty much like an iPhone 5S, the SE actually has an upgraded set of specs. Like last seasons' iPhones, the iPhone SE has a small 4.0 inch screen with 326 pixels per inch density. It runs iOS 9.3.2 from the box and is powered by Apple A9 chipset. It has a 12 MP rear camera, 1.2 MP front camera and a non-removable 1624 mAh battery. The iPhone SE is priced at around $399.
Going for a more affordable smartphone is actually a clever thing to do. Not only are you able to save money, you will also be saved from feeling bad when your phone gets outdated. Getting an upgrade year after year won't be so much of a pocket trouble if your smartphone expenses are maintained to a minimum. Of course, premium phones are more elegant-looking and come with cool features. However, they are also uber-expensive which makes the expenditure a little more difficult to commit to.
