The CCG is now rallying and musing on who will be Chief Tsuneyoshi's offspring. Will they follow the departed chief's will or will they choose Matsuri to take over? Will Kaneki and Furuta clash in the next chapter? Here is a rundown of chapter 100 and spoilers for the upcoming Tokyo Ghoul Re 110.
Furuta And Matsuri
Ending chapter 100, apparently Ui asks Matsuri about Chairman Washuu Tsuneyoshi's will. The hand-written letter that was found on his desk says, "I recommend Furuta Souta of the Washuu branch family to assume position of the next Bureau Director."
Ui is not happy about the letter. He believes Furuta is not qualified as he lacks leadership, proficiency, and accomplishments. However, Ui knows they cannot ignore Tsuneyoshi's last will. At present, we see Furuta playing the naive card. However, in Tokyo Ghoul Re 110 and beyond, things might turn differently and divide the CCG into Matsuri supporters and Furuta supporters.
Meanwhile, Urie gets invited by Matsuri. Matsuri asks him if he can kill Haise, his former superior. To which Urie replies, "Special class, what I need is not to be reaffirmed but an [order]"Matsuri then divulges insights to Urie that he suspects Furuta to be the master mind of killing Washuu family. He orders Urie to keep an eye on him as well. Unexpectedly, as Urie left the room, Matsuri reveals his true self and his true feelings - he is in love with Urie.
Mutsuki - Possibly The Villain?
In this chapter, Mutsuki had a chat with Saiko, who tried to ask her a question. Mutsuki calmly answers before Saiko had the chance to ask too, admitting to her that she is female. Mutsuki leaves, watching her walk away. She says that she already knew she was a girl but what she really wanted is that she smells blood from Mutsuki.
If you ask me, her past involved immense trauma that led her first to kill cats, then ghouls, and perhaps now, she enjoys killing human's. She could be a villain in the first place.
Chapter 100 ended with the meeting of Furuta and Kaneki. speculations of upcoming fight might happen or might not. Though we can't be so sure about what will happy next chapter. It might reveal to us a new Furuta's peace versus Kaneki's.
