Xbox One Beats PlayStation 4 As The Top-Selling Console In The US In October

Microsoft has announced that their Xbox One is still the top-selling console in the United States in October. This is according to the largest market research firm The NPD Group. It is able to maintain its lead ahead of PlayStation 4.

Xbox One Reigns

According to the Venture Beat, the NPD Group has not released the data. But Microsoft decided to share the said information. This is actually the fourth consecutive month that Xbox One has dominated the gaming console market in the US.

It is also reported that this will be the most months in a row that Xbox One has topped the PS4. It is the case since the rivals debuted back in Nov. 2013. Additionally, Microsoft is also enjoying the same result in their markets in the UK and Australia.

Microsoft has expressed their excitement over the news. Xbox One marketing boss Mike Nichols thanked all of the Xbox fans worldwide for their continued support.

Xbox One's Hit Games

According to the Game Informer, Microsoft mentioned their hit games Gears of War 4 and Battlefield 1 have helped achieve the good result on their sales. They added that Xbox Live's strong numbers are also contributing factors. The tech company mentioned that the multiplayer gamers on Xbox Live have increased to 52 percent compared to last year.

Furthermore, Gears of War 4 was the highest selling platform-exclusive title for October in the US and the UK. The Forza Horizon 3 is now the best-selling and highest-rated racing game in 2016.

PlayStation 4 Pro Will Challenge Microsoft's Xbox One Dominance

Sony has launched its PlayStation 4 Pro. Depending on its success, it can propel PS4 back on top. The PlayStation 4 Pro is even more powerful with a 4K resolution. Microsoft will try to level up the field by updating its Xbox One. The tech giant is set to launch its Xbox One Scorpio on late 2017.
