Campo Santo, the developer of the hit game Firewatch, has already announced in the past the arrival of a new update. The latter is said to introduce a couple of hefty features and improvements. And just recently, it was unleashed to the game. Now, the title already has a free-roam mode and a support feature intended for Sony's PS4 Pro. These are certainly interesting additions to have.
According to TechSpot, the latest patch of Firewatch included a mode that allows players to freely roam the game. It's packed with a 24-hour-day-and-night cycle, enough to pique the interest of many. As of this writing, it's now available to players who are in the PC and the PS4 platform. It can be downloaded via Steam. It's worth noting that the aforesaid feature was first introduced to Microsoft's Xbox One console.
There's a catch to this Firewatch feature, though. It'll only be available if and only if players have completed the main campaign of the game. Obviously, that's a bit of a bummer especially for fans who are into such adventure. To access it, simply go to the Special Features section (located in the main menu).
As mentioned, Firewatch -- thanks to the new update -- now includes a support feature for those who're in the PS4 Pro platform. As announced in the official blog site of Campo Santo, the new update's primary purpose is to offer such. If players owned the said console, they'll notice a significant change in the game's graphic design. This is most especially if they're playing using a 1080 display. They'll notice the smoothness and quality of textures.
For Firewatch players who are into 4K display, they'll see the in-game world rendered effectively at WQHD (which is 2560 x 1440) resolution. It also has a UI rendering of around 3840 x 2160 resolution. Overall, the patch gave way to a much detailed enhancement compared to the title's version in PS4.
