Oculus Rift Is Finally Working Even In The Low-End PCs
According to PC Gamer, it is a dream for PC users that the VR headset Oculus Rift can work in PCs. The headset is positive that it can change the platform with Asynchronous Facewarp (ASW). It is a new technology that can help Rift's compatibility with a specified PCs.
The ASW technlogy let the VR titles to run in 45 HZ that is previously at 90 HZ. This is a step back from Asynchronous Timewarp (ATW) that was introduced by Oculus Rift earlier this year. With these two technologies, the VR headset now serves a wider array of computers.
"The hardware requirements for ASW are modest. This functionality has been enabled on all current- generation AMD GPUs (RX 400 series) and previous- or current- generation Nvidia GPUs (GTX 900 or 1000 series)," Oculus explained.
Oculus Rift's System Requirements For PC
For the Oculus Rift to work perfectly, the set-up must include an NVIDIA 960 or even better graphics card. Next, the processor must be an Intel i3-6100 or an AMD FX4350 CPU. The next requirement is a memory of of 8 GB or more RAM. Lastly, the operating system must be Windows 8 or higher is acceptable.
In a report on It Pro, ASW will be integrated automatically even if the hardware requirements are compatible with the technology needed for Oculus Rift to work on PC. But the requirements will be able to help the headset's performance to be better.
