Is Apple's iPhone 8 Going To Be A Really Amazing Device?

In the second half of 2017, Apple is anticipated to launch its 10th anniversary edition iPhone 8. Online emerging rumors related to the smartphone have suggested that this will be a really amazing device.

iPhone 8 Anniversary Edition

According to Value Walk, next year will mark ten years since the tech giant Apple launched its first iPhone. Because of that anniversary, there are high expectations surrounding the upcoming iPhone 8. According to tech experts, this next generation iPhone will be a game changer, implementing technology that will disrupt the smartphone scene forever. However, right now all of these speculations about the iPhone 8 are unsubstantiated rumors and the company did not confirm them yet.

With the iPhone 8, Apple is expected to deliver something really special that will mark the 10th anniversary in style and will surprise the market. But the high-tech giant is facing a lot of competition from rival companies. All these brand names have something to prove. Among them is Samsung that needs to produce something spectacular to overcome its image crisis due to the failure of the Note 7.

Wireless Charging Technology

According to a report published by Pocket-lint, one of Apple's main production partners, Foxconn, has been working on wireless charging modules. Among the latest buzz related to the upcoming iPhone 8 is a claim that the next generation mobile device will support wireless charging technology, according to Tech Times. Apple is rumored to implement a new module into the upcoming iPhone 8 that will connect to a transmitter plugged into a wall outlet.

The iPhone 8 will be able to charge via wireless charging as long as it's within 15 feet of the transmitter, according to PhoneArena. For this new technology, Apple is reportedly partnering with Energous, the company behind WattUp. The wireless charging technology that will be implemented by Apple in its iPhone 8 is reportedly far more than the traditional charging mats available today.

WattUp is an upcoming wireless charging technology that works based on deployed radio frequencies. The WattUp system uses a Power Router that emanates energy by using radio frequency signals. This signal can be transformed into power able to charge batteries that have a WattUp receiver.

OLED display

Up to now, Apple has been using LCD panels in its iPhone lineup, but many reports suggest that the high-tech company will be switching to OLED into its upcoming iPhone 8. In fact, Apple already uses OLED displays in its Apple Watch and the new MacBook Pro's Touch Bar. A report published by AppleInsider suggests that Apple made a deal with Samsung to have the South Korean company supply OLED panels for the iPhone 8.

Advanced biometrics

Ming-chi Kuo, a well-known analyst at KGI Securities claims that the iPhone 8 could benefit from a suite of biometric sensors. They could include tightened security, such as iris scanning and facial recognition. However, MacRumors has added some doubt to the iris scanning feature by publishing an article that explains this tech may not be ready until 2018.

10-nanometer A11 chip

According to reports, apparently, TSMC has already started the production of the A11 chip for Apple. The mobile processor is based on a 10-nanometer technology and tech experts expect that Apple will use it in its upcoming iPhone 8. It is believed that TSMC has secured all the required orders for the A11 chip and in the first quarter of 2017 they will be sent to Apple for validation.
