Get Hooked To Your Android And iOS Phones Even More Because Of 'Pokemon Go' Spawn Time Increase

The latest Pokémon GO update will be making the game a lot less stressful for iOS and Android users since spawn times are increased, which is the amount of time before a Pokémon disappears in an area - starting from 15 to 30 minutes, or even an hour. So the next time you're in the middle of a meeting where all of a sudden a rare Pokémon decides to materialize and appear within the area, you won't have to make up any excuses to run out of the office to be able to catch it.

Reddit user discovered the change in spawn times

How much longer do you need to be able to catch that Lapras before it disappears? On the Silph Road, Reddit's Pokémon GO fan community, user koerrie posted a thread that analyzes and shows the times it will take for Pokémon in his area to spawn and vanish again. The data for this analysis was collected by Reddit user koerrie, who currently runs a Pokémon mapping site for Pokémon GO. The data was collected in Belgium and is based on the observation of about 7,087 different spawn points in Pokémon GO in that area. A spawn point is a location where a Pokémon enters the game world and stays there until it's either caught or vanishes/despawns after its spawn time expires.

According to koerrie

"In my analysis, of the 7,087 valid spawn points plotted, it has been recorded that 6,387 points turned out to be 30-minute spawns, while 700 turned out to be 60-minute, or roughly an hour spawns," koerrie wrote. If the data that was conveyed is correct, it would suggest that 15-minute spawns have been removed out of the game, at least for now.

The new Pokémon Go update will make it way easier to catch Pokémon

This would only mean that you have a more-than-better chance of catching a live Pokémon before it disappears because you won't have to be beating a very limited 15-minute window. However, despite all things said, Pokémon GO players shouldn't be celebrating the extra time just yet. Keep in mind that the data was gathered from Belgium, as noted by koerrie. There could always be a possibility that the spawn times will be different in other parts of the world. That, as of now, is unclear, but other Pokémon GO players are also reporting 30 and 60 minute spawn times in their locations in the comment section of koerrie's post, suggesting that it's not just isolated to one region.
