Dota 2's deadly dance of warding is believed to be among the most difficult strategic elements in the game. However, a number of rules can help the players as they begin their way to mastery.
Proper Placement of Ward
Ward placement in Dota 2 is said to be a major factor when it comes to figuring out if the player's vision would be effective or not. With that, it is necessary to ensure that someone has wards on the towers when pushing them, and drop them in a proper place to find out if other teams are gearing up to defend the tower. Reports also suggest that it is important to study the enemy's team composition to help decide which early wards could be most effective. Placing a ward to keep the off-lane safe from the jungler's rotations should also be considered.
Get Inside The Enemy's Head
Dota 2 players should keep in mind that their enemies can see them if they go to their ward, however, the enemies have no idea that the players already know this. With that, the players have the advantage as they can go past the suspected ward, while their laner gets a false sense of security for the upcoming gank. Preventing the enemy to know where the ward is located can be very crucial, which means the players must act naturally as they place their wards. This can be done by queuing up the move command to stop tell-tale pause after completing an action.
Ward For All The Time
Do not allow wards to reach full stock. Dota 2 players should replenish after 150 seconds, which means they must have an observer every two minutes.
Meanwhile, a 156MB update has just been released for Dota 2. However, reports suggest that the update offers very little, except for completing the seasonal Twin Forks bonus quest patch, including the additional Fall Treasure III. The said treasure is reported to offer new sets for the Templar Assassin, Ember Spirit, Bloodseeker, Lich and Winter Wyvern and a small chance of receiving a set for Undying and Shadow Fiend.
