It has just been confirmed that Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, and Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, will live throughout "The Walking Dead" season 7 and come back for season 8. Both stars did not just renewed their contract for the series but also received raises. Moreover, showrunner Scott Gimple admits Rick and his gang will be dealing with a new villain at any time which could mean Negan’s fate is already sealed.
One of the biggest worries fans have in Season 7 of “The Walking Dead” is the possible death of their favorite lead character which including Daryl and Rick. Just recently, Negan and Abraham have been brutally killed so fans are now hoping no other lead characters suffer the same fate. Particularly Daryl who is currently in the worst possible situation after having the guts to punch Negan so he is taken into captivity and tortured continuously. He could have been living the life if only he joined Negan’s gang but he wasn’t swayed so he has to accept the consequences.
As for Negan’s fate, fans are looking forward to finally see the Whisperers make an appearance in “The Walking Dead” as it could also mean that Negan’s death is coming near. According to reports, it is highly unlikely that Rick and his gang will face off with two villains so one of them would have to be killed or at least impose no threat anymore. And it looks like the Whisperers could come anytime now as the official Instagram account of “The Walking Dead” posts a familiar scene from the comic book. The scene was believed to be the new villain.
"The Walking Dead" Showrunner Scott Gimple recently had an interview and shared details about the incoming villain saying “it's not impossible that the Whisperers could come along or aspects of them could come along earlier than the timeline of the book, but certainly not this early.”
