Samsung Galaxy S4 Case Images Leaked

Images have leaked online that are allegedly of cases for the Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S4.

The four images appear on the website MobileFun.co.uk, which credits the pictures to "a trusted Chinese accessory manufacturer." Two of the images feature a stack of colored cases, while the other two display a clear case and a white case.

"The Samsung Galaxy S4 is widely anticipated to be announced at a Samsung Unpacked event in March, so it's no surprise that we've started to see leaked information about the device," the site claims.

MobileFun claims that the cases fit a five-inch display, correlating with rumors that the Galaxy S4 will sport a five-inch display with 440ppi, one of the highest pixel densities available. The cases are similar in appearance, with holes for the camera, flash and speaker in the same place on all of them. They also include a headphone jack on the upper right, volume buttons on the left, a lock button on the right and a micro USB on the bottom. The cases have a less curvaceous design than the Galaxy S3, suggesting a greater similarity to the Galaxy S2.

Samsung usually takes the secrecy of its smartphone design quite seriously. Some heavily circulated rumors about the new Galaxy S4 include an Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB RAM, 64GB Flash Memory, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The cases themselves may have been designed out of speculation, in an effort by the manufacturer to get ahead of the competition.

Since Samsung's new phone has not yet been announced and MobileFun has revealed case leaks with mixed accuracy, it is best to approach the images with skepticism. In 2011, the UK retailer proved to be wrong in dishing out the iPhone 5 design. However, MobileMe did release a more accurate set of images in 2012.

Samsung plans to hold a launch event for the Galaxy S4 on March 14.
