Tech giant Apple has achieved a record share of 91 percent -$9 billion- of global smartphone profits in the third quarter of 2016, which represent one o the highest achievements of the Cupertino company, despite the fact that its iPhone haven´t been sold as it was expected. This amounts to $8.19 billion for Apple, which has the biggest profit margins in phone industry because of its greatness in every device, and a loyal brand that only the most important companies have.
Huaewi, Vivo, And OPPO Are The Other Giants In the Global Smartphone Profits This Quarter
According to The Indian Express, the director of Strategy Analytics, Linda Sui, explained through a press statement that the ability that Apple has to maximize pricing and minimize production cost is extremely impressive, considering the results and incredible benefits that this tactic usually gives the company. Also, she said that even when Huawei, Vivo, and OPPO has made a great work to become the next three most profitable smartphone vendors in the world this quarter, all of these companies are still a long way behind the Cupertino´s.
One of the most interesting cases is Huawei -the second most profitable smartphone vendor this quarter, giving the fact that the Chinese company managed to grab 2.4 percent of the world´s operating profit share in the market, accounting for $200 million. This company is currently the world´s third-largest smartphone maker in the world behind Samsung and Apple and has revealed its intention of beating the Cupertino company within two years in order to achieve the second place.
Taking Advantage Of Samsung´s Weakness
According to CNBC, both Vivo and OPPO -which represents the third and fourth place as the most profitable smartphone vendors this quarter- achieved a 2.2 percent of the world´s smartphone profit each, managing to grow very quickly through an effective strategy of selling at low prices but high -spec mobile devices.
Although this represent a huge achievement for the Cupertino company, it is a fact that this was possible not only because of its great strategy and reliable brand, but also because Samsung´s failure with its Galaxy Note 7, considering that this was a situation that made the South Korean company suffer one of the worst periods in its history.
