Apple infamously left out any news about the iPad Air 3 last month, during its October 27 event. However, fans of this line of products have nothing to worry about as the Cupertino-based company is reportedly holding out the details and release until next year. And the device sounds like one worth the wait.
According to Neurogadget, the upcoming iPad 3 is likely to be introduced within the first quarter of 2017 - probably in March. The device is expected to be even thinner and lighter an ever before. As such, the unit will have an overall sleeker look and feel.
The publication goes on to claim that the iPad Air 3 will be available in several colors as opposed to the standard silver. Furthermore, it looks as if the upcoming tablet will take more inspiration from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. This is because the dual lens camera is slated for reveal on the device as well.
But there will be certain features and accessories that will be improved on the device. The iPad Air 3, for instance, will have an HD 4K display that is equipped with 3D Touch technology. Furthermore, the company is expected to develop the Apple Pencil and make it the perfect partner for the tablet.
International Business Times AU adds that the iPad Air 3 will have a 16GB variant and a 32GB variant, which will be priced upwards of US$610. In addition, the upcoming gadget is likely to come with either the A9X chipset or the A10 Fusion, as well as 3GB of RAM. However, it might be smaller than the existing 9.7 inch iPad Pro.
The publication goes on to point out that Apple might incorporate even more features into the iPad Air 3. These include water proof technology, a fingerprint sensor and the incorporation of four speakers. However, this might also mean that Apple will remove the standard 3.5mm audio jack, as it has with its latest flagships.
