Pokemon Sun And Moon Tips: How To Catch Espeon And Umbreon In The Wild

The Pokemon Sun and Moon craze is still in full force a week after the games' launch and players have been finding new ways to unlock many of the games' secrets. Although some have already stumbled into their most favorite Pokemon, others are quick to notice that some of them are the evolved forms of Eevee.

You heard it right. Its eight evolutions including Jolteon, Vaporeon, Flareon, Umbreon, Lefaon, Glaceon, Espeon and Sylveon can be found in the wilds. With this, we give you the foolproof tips to catching two of these evolutions early in the game: Umbreon and Espeon.

Catch Umbreon In Pokemon Sun and Moon

Catching Umbreon may be quite easier for players as it is only found in tall grass. The evolved form is known as the moonlight Pokemon and it only appears during night time. Before any of these evolutions take place, you must first catch an Eevee. In our previous article, we have given a guide on how to find and catch one.

You might want to head over route four or six when it is night time and search for an Eevee there. To get Umbreon, you need to give Eevee a high happiness value. Give the Pokemon a Soothe Bell Item and level it up by teaching several moves. Also, feeding it Hondew, Qualot and Tamato berries ups its happiness meter.

If you want to cheat the system, get two TMs that Eevee can learn and then teach it one TM. Replace that move with another TM and then put back the first TM replacing the second one again. Each time you alternate both, you raise Eevee's happiness.

In order to check the happiness of Eevee, visit the market in KoniKoni City. A person there reveals you the creature's happiness value. If it goes above 220, you can level it up during the night into Umbreon.

Catch Espeon In Pokemon Sun and Moon

Pokemon Sun and Moon is the first game where you can find one of its evolutions in the wild. Although it doesn't come out easily, following these mechanics may hand you Espeon. Head over to Route four or Route six during the day since Espeon is considered the light evolution of Eevee. One good thing to remember is that it only appears during day time.

Once you find an Eevee, use the "False Swipe" move to lower its health. The catch here is for the Eevee to use the S.O.S mechanic in order to call for help that will eventually spawn the evolved Espeon. Once it appears, make sure that Evee is weak so you could focus catching the Espeon.

Make sure to get its health to yellow and try to catch it there. Though it might be easier to evolve the Eevee, using the S.O.S. mechanic gives you a stronger chance of acquiring the light-based evolution with better stats. It's also a good way to get some EV training.

For an Espeon, the "Magic Bounce" is the best ability it has because it can reflect non-attack moves back to its enemies. Once you capture this evolved Pokemon, you'll probably be on your way to becoming one of the best trainer out there.
