He was the typical bad boy who fell in love with the small town girl, and yet despite how typical the plotline was, there was always something unpredictable about his character. Despite being a series regular only until the third season, and only coming back for cameo appearances as the series progresses, Jess and Rory has always had unfinished business between them. Jess was the only one who knew and accepted Rory for everything that she was, and for what she was not.
Thus, after Ventimiglia confirmed that Jess is indeed coming back for the "Gilmore Girls" revival, he was just as psyched as the fans were. The fans of the show are still rooting for Rory to end up with him, as he has been the favourite of all her boyfriends. As a way of declaring gratitude to the fans for all their support, Ventimiglia never hesitated in returning for the revival, and even appeared in the show's official trailer. This has then led to the assumptions that the audience will be seeing more of him than expected, and fingers-crossed, to end up with Rory as well.
