When Alola Dugtrio first came out, the internet poked fun at its new hairdos. This is undeniably one of the most popular Alola forms in Pokemon Sun and Moon, but it will not be available until later on. If you want to have it early on in the game, follow these steps.
Find An Alola Diglett First
Alola Diglett is one of the first Pokemon you can catch in Pokemon Sun and Moon. You can immediately encounter it in the first island - Akala Island. It looks just like the Gen 1 version except for the three strands of blonde hair sprouting at the middle of its head.
You can find an Alola Diglett in the cave of your first trial, but you can also check out the cave near the Pokemon Lab. Once you got yourself a mole, which is incredibly easy to do, the next step is to grind.
Evolve It Into Alola Dugtrio
It has to be at level 26 before it evolves into Alola Dugtrio, so make sure you use it at any opportunity. It might take a while, but it is still faster than waiting to get to the third island to catch a Dugtrio. You can also use Rare Candies to help with that.
Alola Diglett can evolve into Alola Dugtrio as early as Island Two (Melemele Island). But you can get it there faster if you are serious enough.
Alola Dugtrio's Location
As GamePur has noted, you can wait until you encounter Alola Dugtrio in the game naturally. However, you have to make it to Ula'ula Island first in both Pokemon Sun and Moon, which is the third island you will travel to. If you want this cool new Pokemon so bad right now, you are better off finding a Diglett and evolving it.
Nonetheless, you can find it in the Haina Dessert. Just roam around and you will eventually bump into Dugtrio with all its glorious blonde flowing hair. Don't worry, it is not extremely rare so you can be sure to find one in a few minutes or so.
More On Alola Dugtrio
Aside from looking like a cool surfer dude(s), Alola Dugtrio is quite fast. Its Attack stats are quite good also. It has 110 points on Speed and 100 points on Attack, which makes it quite a capable Pokemon to have in your party. In fact, it is included in the top 15 in terms of Stats.
However, Its HP and Special Attack are quite low at 35 and 50 respectively. Its Defense at 60 is also not that good, as well as its Special Defense at 70. Overall, Alola Dugtrio scores 425. Solgaleo and Lunala are, of course, at the top with a score of 680.
