Already got Final Fantasy XV? You might want to read these tips first before you set on your way to a wonderful adventure with Noctis' gang. Square Enix has prepared something new for newbies and even for long-time fans of the franchise. New to FF or not, these tips will surely come in handy.
Final Fantasy XV Tip #1: Food Is Love
Square Enix has added in this new feature to Final Fantasy XV. Every night, you camp out and you have Ignis cook food for the team. This isn't just a Sims-like feature where you need to eat just so your Hunger bar is full. Here, food provides important nutrients and buffs up your characters' skills the next day.
It will prove to be useful in combat (after all, who can fight on an empty stomach?). The benefits depend on the meal you consumed. You can check the user interface if the benefits are still in effect.
Final Fantasy XV Tip #2: Keep Jumping
The gang has Stamina, which means you cannot run for an extended amount of time. One way to bypass this is to jump often while running. You get back a little Stamina points while in the air, so you can actually bunny-hop your way to your destination.
Stopping to wait for your Stamina to recover would also stop your sprinting momentum, so it is more recommended to just jump. This allows you to efficiently travel the world without a chocobo or other forms of transportation.
Final Fantasy XV Tip #3: All Hail Ignis
As you progress through the game, you will earn AP (Ability Points) that can unlock skills for your characters. Pay more attention to Ignis' skills and unlock his Healing ability as soon as you can. Healers are most vital in any Final Fantasy title as they heal the team members individually or as a whole.
This would eliminate the need to carry loads of Health and Mana potions, which can still run out when you are facing a particularly strong foe. Ignis can learn a lot of extremely useful Healing spells, so make sure you invest in him early on.
Final Fantasy XV Tip #4: Go Low Chaos
Final Fantasy XV incorporates stealth, too. You can assassinate targets to kill them instantly and avoid a long and bloody confrontation. Just sneak up to them and press the assassinate button, which Game Revolution has noted to be the triangle button on PlayStation 4.
With this feature, you can now assess a combat situation even before you enter it. It certainly adds a more strategic feel to the game. It seems Square Enix really want to leave behind the classic turn-based system behind.
Final Fantasy XV Tip #5: Become A Trader
Unlike other Final Fantasy titles, making money is harder in the latest installment. You don't get some Gils (the in-game currency) just by fighting monsters. However, you will find a lot of items, most of which you don't need.
Sell these items to vendors for additional income. Decide carefully which items you really really really need and then sell off the others. Be careful not to hoard as most of the time, you don't need the "treasures" anyway.
Hope these tips would serve you well. Tune in for more Final Fantasy XV guides we have for you. Happy playing!
