Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 Leak: Possible 41-Megapixel Camera And More

Verizon and Nokia will be launching a new flagship Lumia smartphone in the near future. A screenshot of the device has been discovered in an internal Verizon inventory log.

The inventory log shows that the smartphone will be called the Nokia Lumia 928. Verizon customers have been waiting to get a flagship Lumia Windows 8 smartphone ever since AT&T released Nokia's flagship smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 920.

The Nokia Lumia 928 is expected to be a variant of the Lumia 920 for Verizon. According to rumors Verizon and Microsoft will be doing extensive marketing for the Lumia 928 and Verizon will be marketing the Lumia 928 as a flagship smartphone along with the iPhone 5 and HTC Droid DNA, the carrier's current flagship smartphones.

The smartphone is expected to share some of the specs found on AT&T's Nokia Lumia 920. It has been confirmed the smartphone will have a 1280 x 768 HD screen. There are rumors that the smartphone could possibly feature a 41-megapixel PureView camera that Nokia currently uses in its Nokia 808 PureView smartphone that was released in June 2012.

The Lumia 928 is also expected to look different than the Lumia 920 based on an FCC filing for the smartphone. The smartphone is expected to still retain the brightly colored, polycarbonate case that Nokia has been using in its high-end Lumia smartphones.

Verizon currently offers a mid-range Nokia Lumia smartphone, the Lumia 822. Verizon customers have been waiting for the carrier to release a flagship Lumia smartphone and it looks like their prayers have been answered with the Lumia 928.

There has been no expected release date for the Lumia 928, but it shouldn't be long, as the smartphone has already received FCC approval and the inventory entry for the Lumia 928 was made on Jan. 17.
