Just in, Execration will no longer be able to compete in the upcoming Dota 2 Boston Major due to visa issues with several of their core members. In the light of this incident, it appears that Valve could also be taking the blame after news from the organization revealed that Valve did not establish communication well to resolve the visa problems.
Execration Visa Problems
The main issue surrounding the visa problems that the core members of Team Execration are experiencing stem from the delay at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), falsifying the initial allegations that the members weren't able to complete the documents needed for the process. But just today, a source from Reddit has revealed that Valve is also to blame for the incident.
According to a Reddit post, the organization has already applied for the P1 visa a month ahead from the said competition and was already waiting for the process when they were rejected due to incomplete documents for the petition between Valve and USCIS. According to the source, the manager of Execration implied that no one was denied of the visa but rather, they were rejected because Valve had some missing documents and that they weren't able to comply in time; which according to him, "for reasons we dont know."
LGD To Replace Execration
Later that day, Valve announced that the replacement for Execration will be the Chinese team, LGD Gaming. There were numerous speculations regarding this decision and as to why neither Team Secret nor Team Liquid got the invitation instead despite both of them winning a Major event. One factor could be the roster changes that both of the teams had undergone.
Both of Team Secret and Team Liquid has won their respective championships with a new roster - albeit Team Liquid didn't officially made a roster announcement yet, it appears that Valve is taking the standins relatively a subject to such. But despite all of this, one can still argue that there are some teams which could qualify (Alliance, etc.).
