NBA superstar Dwight Howard is currently making headlines after an altercation with a Lakers fan. Apparently, the fan called Dwight Howard a "bitch" infuriating the player.
On Sunday night's game between Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks, things started to heat up between the NBA star and a Lakers fan in the audience. The incident happened when Dwight Howard was on his way back to the locker room after the Lakers beat the Hawks in an intense game.
While walking past the audience, a very vocal fan taunts the NBA star. According to TMZ Sports, the alleged fan, who appeared to be in his 20s, yelled "You're a bitch!" referring to Dwight Howard. The Hawks' center player halted upon hearing the heckler and snapped back, saying, "Come back here and say it."
The NBA player did not take things lightly as a team official had to physically push him back toward the tunnel. To recall, this is not the first time Dwight Howard experienced the same taunting. Last year, the audience chanted "Kobe" during a playoff game against the Clippers every time he touches the ball.
It can be recalled that Dwight Howard joined forces with Kobe Bryant in the Lakers team in 2012 but only lasted a year. His short-lived career in the team was taken negatively by fans, putting him in a difficult situation. In fact, there were numerous games where Dwight Howard heard boos from the fans, which the player responded to in a way similar to what transpired recently.
The Sunday's NBA match between Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks held at the Staples Center ended with a 109-94 score. Dwight Howard scored a total of 19 points with nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in a 33 and a half minutes of floor time.
