British Batman Busts Bradford Burglar: Vigilante Justice In Yorkshire

A man dressed in a Batman costume brought a wanted criminal into the police station. The vigilante brought the person into a UK police station located in Bradford, West Yorkshire in Feb.

The Batman outfit worn by the individual was not the modern leather outfit that is seen in the Dark Knight. It was based loosely on the 1960s Adam West.

Police speculated that based on the body language of both men that they witnessed on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), they may have known each other.

The police now know the identity of the 'super-hero' that they called the 'Bradford Batman', although at first it was a mystery. A Chinese food deliveryman named Stan Worby, 39 admitted to UK paper, the Daily Telegraph that he was the 'Bradford Batman'. Police assumption was correct; the men knew each other and were good friends for 15 years. The suspect brought to the station was his friend Danny Frayne, 27. Worby dressed up to attend a game at Wembley in the replica Batman outfit.

"I got a call from Danny while I was at Wembley and he said, 'can you run me to the cop station?' But as I was in London I couldn't, I told him as soon as I was home I would run him to Bradford central police station. We got back about 1am, and I picked Danny up in a minibus at 1.30am, "said Worby.

Frayne was charged with handling stolen goods along with other fraud related crimes.

"It was a joke at the end of the day and Danny wanted to go to the police station. I had spoken to Danny during the week and tried to knock some sense into him. It was getting on my nerves having police round all the time asking for him or his whereabouts," said Worby.

Frayne will appear in court on Friday before magistrates for judgment.
