Disney has recently released their newest animated film, entitled "Moana." The movie has gotten nothing but positive reviews, and has become a source of inspiration for all the young ones who have watched the movie.
"Moana" Tells The Story Of A Girl Who Dreams Big Of Going Beyond What She Was Limited To
"Moana" is another Disney character that is bound to be loved by many, especially because of the message she delivers on strong women empowerment. The previous Disney film, "Frozen" delivered a more or less the same message that was centred on the relationship between two sisters. Now, "Moana" establishes the kind of a relationship that one girl usually has with a very protective father, just as all fathers usually are. Their natural instinct is to protect their little girls from any harm that could be served to them by this cruel world. Thus, there are many people, girls especially, who could relate to the latest Disney film.
Moana is living in an island, the daughter of the Chief, who grew up always wanting to go beyond the reef. However, her father has always been holding her back, fearing that she may hurt herself when she does. He spends his time convincing his daughter, while growing up, that the island is enough and that she could find her happiness just by staying there. However, Moana has this voice inside of her that is pushing her to do what she wants, believing that going beyond the reef is what she was meant to do.
Moana then came to a point that she decided to disobey her father's orders, on account in saving her island. She sails away from her family and her comfort zone, believing that going out into the water is what she is meant to do. Just like many of the girls all over the world, they have protective fathers who try to keep them from venturing into their dreams just because it's too much of a risk. Moana grew up obeying her father, but at the moment she felt that she needed to do what she has always been meant to do, she followed her heart. She followed the voice inside of her, that she is the salvation of her family and the island.
Disney Continually Inspires Young People, Delivers Message That Everyone Could Relate To
She may have needed to disobey her father to do so, but it was for a great cause. The Disney movie does not condone disobeying ones' parents, rather a push in the right direction for those who are questioning their purpose in this world just because they feel stuck in wherever they are. It merely promotes the fact that there is a whole world out there, filled with great opportunities and ambitions. There may be bumps on the road and storms to encounter but that is what it is, there will always be struggles.
Life will never be perfect, and that is what the Disney film "Moana" tries to relay to the world. Life is about taking risks, and doing the desires of the heart, for that is what people are made to do. Life is so much more than just any ordinary day, and the only way to see that is to go beyond the reef. Just like what Moana has been trying to tell the audience, "Who you are is the voice inside of you."
