It seems like it is going to be a sweet Christmas indeed for fans of the Marvel series all over the world as Netflix has just confirmed another comeback. It has just announced that Marvel’s “Luke Cage” will be returning for a second season. With that news, it has also dropped a short sweet teaser to hype up the fans.
The incredible Luke Cage, also known as Carl Lucas, will be making his comeback on the television screen as Netflix has announced on Dec. 4 that the series the said character stars in has been renewed for another season. The announcement was made through Netflix’s official Twitter and Facebook pages as it posted a short teaser. The teaser featured a newly renovated Pop’s Barber Shop or it may be the old one, as it zooms in on a flickering sign that says, "Season 2 Coming Soon". The said teaser was accompanied with a caption quoting Pop’s famous quote, “Always forward.”
With “Daredevil” getting a third season and “Jessica Jones” being greenlighted for a second installment, “Luke Cage” is the third Marvel television series to be renewed this year. There are still no announcements as to when “Luke Cage” will be aired since there are still a couple of Marvel series lined up for release. “Iron Fist”, “The Punisher”, and “The Defenders” are all in the works preparing for their respective debut release.
“The Defenders” will feature the four main Marvel heroes in the Netflix series namely Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. There are rumors that there might be a possibility that even The Punisher, also known as Frank Castle, will be joining the team. But before that, fans are already excited that the Marvel’s bulletproof hero will be returning.
“Luke Cage” Season 1 premiered on Sept. 30 on Netflix and has been greatly received. The season left off with Luke in a pinch as he was carried back to Seagate Prison after the villainous Mariah Dillard tipped off authorities. Fans are looking forward as well to the new Diamondback, who might just become like his brother. Netflix has yet to release more details regarding the number of episodes and date of release.
