Battlefield 1 fans -- you're in for a huge treat! Developer DICE has just recently released a brand new update. And take note: it's a big one, so to speak. From an exciting DLC map down to new features and stuff, the titular World War 1 game has become even more interesting. If you want to know exactly what you're getting, continue reading.
First off, the latest update adds another interesting map (the first among the three), which is called the Giant's Shadow. This along with the so-called grenade-crossbow aren't really a late night show. Almost all players already know their existence. But wait, there's actually more.
For Premium Members of Battlefield 1, know that you'll be able to play the brand new map already. You'll be the very first to try it, as regular members will only have access to it come Dec. 20. Moreover, the patch brings a truckload of changes (all for giving balances) to items and weapons, among others.
For instance, the game now has a new mode -- it's called the Spectator Mode. Using this feature will give players the capability of joining a live match, only that he/she is an observer. Think about it as something as what other studios did to their games (DotA 2 being an epitome). The cool thing about it is that players can switch from first-person to third-person and vice versa. This puts the entire experience on a whole new level.
Apart from that, a new game option by the name of Custom Game has been added. The latter basically limits players from using other standard rifles, except from the ones issued according to their chosen class. For example, the British are only allowed to use SMLE MKIII (the standard issue). Because of that, don't expect these weapons to be equipped with optics. Nevertheless, they should be able to provide players the kind of gameplay that is founded in the WW1 trenches. Good thing, though, fans have the option to enable or disable it according to their preferences.
A couple of shotguns in Battlefield 1 have been nerfed, too. However, their recoil values along with other weapons have been tweaked for good. As for the syringes, a cooldown has been implemented. This is to prevent the so-called "revive trains," which DICE deems as a Medic's way of reviving players in one single sitting.
But of course, the update also focuses on fixing a good range of issues. There are a couple of bug fixes, one of which is when horses twitch whenever there's an explosion. Also, the issue in which players tend to become invisible when exiting various vehicles has been fixed, too. These are just among the good number of exploitations the developers covered.
For those who're wondering about the Aim Assist in Battlefield 1, this, too, has been updated. But in order for players to be able to utilize the feature, they need to be giving aim input in an active manner. Note that in the past, they can just simply strafe past an enemy. The feature then starts to work. This wouldn't be the case now with the new patch.
