Samsung Galaxy S4 finally made its gala appearance in New York on March 14. The smartphone will be offered by all major Canadian carriers but none of the carriers has revealed a release date.
The Galaxy S4 has been one of the most-anticipated smartphones of this year and now smartphone enthusiasts are eager to lay their hands on the device. The Galaxy S4 has been announced on various carriers globally and Samsung Canada has also announced the availability of the handset on all major carriers.
"The Samsung GALAXY S 4 will be available Q2 in Canada from Bell, Eastlink, Fido, Koodo, Mobilicity, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, Videotron, Virgin Mobile and Wind Mobile and their authorized channels. Further details will be released closer to Canadian availability," per Samsung Canada.
The only carrier missing from the list is MTS in Manitoba. The Galaxy S4 will be released in other parts of the world in April, but Canadian customers will have to wait a bit longer. Moreover, individual carriers will confirm their own release dates.
Samsung announced that the Galaxy S4 will come in both 3G and 4G LTE-ready versions. Depending on the region, you can expect Samsung's next flagship to sport a 1.6GHz Exynos octa-core CPU or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. As with the U.S. version of the handset, the Canadian version may also have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.
None of the carriers has confirmed or hinted at the pricing of the Galaxy S4, but the top-end handset may cost anywhere between $199 and $299 on a new three-year contract with a carrier. However, different carriers may offer varied pricing and possible discounts, too. If you want to buy the phone unlocked and off-contract, you can expect to lay out a hefty $800.
