Alfa Romeo Giulia Finally Goes Stateside: How Will It Match Against Other Car Brands

Rumors that the new Alfa Romeo Giulia is said to be finally arriving to the United States. The Giulia will be introducing three trim variants of the vehicle to the western nation and will be competing with known manufacturers that have been in the country for decades. Car companies like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz may have a little bit of trouble with the arrival of the new Alfa Romeo Giulia that packs a lot of horsepower.

The Giulia Will Have All Wheel Drive As Standard

The Alfa Romeo Guilia's base model will come with all-wheel drive platform as a standard. The Veloce will be packed with a 2.0liter turbo engine that puts out 280 horsepower and 305-pound feet of torque. Rumors say that the price will start at $38,000 dollars. The top of the line variant named QV will have a 2.9liter V6 twin turbo engine that can create up to 505 horsepower and around 443-pound feet of torque. Starting price for the QV is at $73, 600 dollars.

Both the base model and the top-tier QV have impressive engine and power outputs, however, the variant that is rumored to rival the cars in the United States is the middle trim version, named Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce. This variant would still come standard with all-wheel drive and would be packed with a 2.0liter turbocharged engine that makes 350 horsepower. The vehicle will also be giving an option for diesel and would be priced at $40,990 dollars that make it a cheaper alternative to the higher end QV.

The Giulia Versus BMW Versus Audi Versus Mercedes-Benz

In comparison to other car brands, the BMW 3-Series price starts at $33,450 dollars for the 320i variants and the 330i comes at $38,750 dollars. Both the 326d and 340i variant comes in at $40,250 dollars and the plug-in hybrid version, the 330e iPerformance version will start at $44,100 dollars. The Audi A4 is slightly more expensive than the 3-series and will cost buyers $34,900 dollars for the 2.0T ultra-premium model manual, while the automatic version will be at $37,300 dollars. The 2.0T Premium Automatic/ Manual All-wheel drive has a base price of $39,400 Dollars.

While the BMW 3-Series comes in more variants than the rest of the comparison, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class only come in with few options. It's more expensive than the Giulia, the C300 starts off at $39, 500 dollars and can go up to $41,500 to go for the 4Matic setup. Aside from the price range difference in all cars, consumers will also compare how the other car brands will compare to the Giulia's performance.

Power Output May Make A Huge Difference

The BMW 330i will have a 2.0liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Zero to 60 miles in just 5.4 seconds. The Audi A4, on the other hand, gets 252 horsepower and 273-pound feet of torque coming from its 2.0liter turbocharged dual cam engine. The A4 can reach zero to 60 miles in 5.2 seconds. The Mercedes-Benz C-class C300 has a 2.0liter direct-injected four-cylinder turbocharged engine that puts out 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.

It would be a tough buy for consumers with a premium budget this coming 2017 due to the number of choices. If available in the area, future buyers are highly advised to test each car first to help decide on the best buy. All models are promising and show great potential, whatever the case; it would be a win-win situation for both the car companies and of course, the buyer.
