Apple Plans To Have A Plastic Screen For The Upcoming iPhone 8

The rumored iPhone 8 might be about to get a lot less glassy because Apple prefers to have a plastic screen for their next smartphones. Aside from that, it is also said that the iPhone maker will introduce wireless charging, a 3D camera and even a flip phone design on its next handset

Apple Plans To Have A Plastic Screen For The Upcoming iPhone 8

The Korea Herald (KH) newspaper have claimed that Apple company is planning to have a plastic screen for the upcoming iPhone 8 as it looks to build a curved screen. A curved-screen design would bring the iPhone 8 alongside Samsung’s flagship devices, as both the Galaxy S6 and S7 releases have curved screens which show notifications along the side of the display.

“The OLED version of the new iPhone will all be curved as Apple ordered all plastic OLED -- not glass -- from Samsung Display," still, according to KH. "Samsung is capable of supplying a little less than 100 million units of curved OLED displays to Apple.”

According to Trusted Reviews, have suggested the Cupertino-based company could do away with the home button on the iPhone 8, allowing for a larger, almost bezel-less display. This would mean the Touch ID fingerprint scanner, typically situated below the home button, would need to be moved or integrated into the display, which could be the new 'sensing technologies,' referenced in the report.

More With The Apple iPhone 8

DalyMail reported that Apple will launch three designs - a flagship model with the curved screen (rumored as the iPhone 8) and two that more closely resemble the current iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Until now, Apple has relied on Corning's durable Gorilla Glass for its iPhone screens. It's not clear whether the plastic would be used alone, or whether it could be covered with a glass layer.

As what 9to5Mac said before, the iPhone 8 will adopt wireless charging, although the charger might be an additional purchase rather than included in the box. Also, Apple is considering new ‘sensing technology’ that allows the device to respond when the user touches any side of the device, not just the main face touchscreen.
