A recent research on dating suggests that guys who are friend zoned are usually not who we actually think they are. Guys placed in the friend zone group are known to be quiet, unattractive, and to make up for their lack of physical appeal, tend to be extremely kind.
This demonstration of overly nice behavior, according to psychologists, are signs of having a "hidden agenda". Alarmingly, this is actually a subtle sign of manipulation and narcissism.
It has been a common social recurrence when an unimpressed, or just plainly indifferent woman has to spurn away the suffocating affection of a hopeful man. However, in some cases, the woman decides to keep the guy in her social circle and continues to enjoy the benefits of his adoration.
The trouble comes in when the guy begins feeling entitled to a reciprocation of affection and expects the woman to sleep with him. To support this finding, a study on 626 students in high school was conducted to explore the variables that nourish the development of a romantic relationship, Daily Mail reports.
The study shows 2 relevant findings: first, students who form romantic relationships were not friends in the previous school year and don't even belong in the same social circle; second, rarely does 2 opposite gender friends decide to transition their platonic relationship to a more romantic one. These clearly show that being friends with a girl doesn't guarantee a chance to become her boyfriend.
Despite the low chances of getting it on with a girl, experts on relationships agree on two things to avoid being chalked down to the friend zone. First, the interested guy should either work more on himself to increase his personal value and increase confidence, which are surefire ways to be more interesting and gain more attention from the ladies.
Second, and probably the easiest way to avoid frustration, is to declare interest or attraction to the lady. This will definitely save everyone from the trouble of getting friend zoned.
