A Case For The 2016 MacBook Pro: Why It Is A Good Piece Of Technology

This year was undoubtedly a tough one for Apple, from its sale numbers to general consumer reviews of the items that were released. The 2016 MacBook Pro is just one of the controversial products that were introduced. And while it definitely has its drawbacks, the Cupertino giant still - at its core - released a stellar piece of machinery.

In some ways, this year seems to have been a little experimental for Apple. Unfortunately, a large group of the public just did not like the innovations presented. The tech giant removed the standard 3.5mm audio jack in its latest flagships, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. And in the 2016 MacBook Pro, it introduced the Touch Bar. These moves - like most other innovations - created a divide in the market.

The Touch Bar, which replaced the normal function keys, is a touchscreen addition that provides users with quick access to certain features in an application. The genius here is that the screen changes specific to the opened system or application. Theoretically, it cuts down time and makes for an entirely new experience.

Despite this, however, there was one major flaw in the 2016 MacBook Pro: Its battery life. On paper, it was standard as Apple promised as much as 10 hours on a single complete charge. However, in actual practice, several users complained that the device was inconsistent in this area. To top it all off, Consumer Reports did not include the notebook in its recommended list - a first in the era of Macs.

According to Consumer Reports, all three models of the 2016 MacBook Pro were inconsistent in terms of battery. The first test would last for 10 hours and then significantly decline in succeeding tests. Apple has since confirmed that it is working with CR to fix this issue and has reasoned out that each individual person will use the device differently and will thus reach varying results.

But even with this, the unit is still a great piece of technology and Apple made all the necessary improvements. According to Laptop Mag, the 15 inch 2016 MacBook Pro features a 2.7-GHz Core i7 processor, a bigger 512GB PCIe SSD, and a Radeon Pro 455 graphics chip. All these specs make up the best MacBook Pro out of any that Apple has ever released - which is in itself saying something.

ZDNet adds that the 15.4 inch Retina Display has a pixel resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels. While this number is the same as the as the predecessors of the 2016 MacBook Pro, it does provide 500-nit brightness, which makes it 67 percent brighter than any model that came before it. It also supports DCI-P3 color space, which can be used for editing videos at a professional level.

Furthermore, the device is incredibly lightweight and therefore portable. Out of all the Mac devices currently available in its size, the 2016 MacBook Pro is the lightest of them all at just 1.83 kilograms. Taking this into consideration, the power, and technology made available by the device is quite a feat.
