The Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date, Update: New Installment Coming In 2017, Analyst Says

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was considered to be one of the biggest games for Bethesda when they released it back in 2011, but it has been roughly five years and the fans want an update on the franchise. Michael Patcher, a gaming analyst in Wedbush Securities, has guessed that Elder Scrolls VI could very much come out in 2017, a statement so bold that even the developers in Bethesda thought it was ridiculous.

According to Attack of the Fanboy, Patcher has this to say about his prediction for next year's games: "The next Elder Scrolls installment comes out, the next Half-Life installment does not. I think Bethesda is close, and think that Valve is not. However, I'd like to be half wrong on this one."

Pete Hines, who works as PR for Bethesda, has gone on to Twitter to refute the claims, and he says that Elder Scrolls VI is not currently in development. Patcher then commented on Hines' statement saying that he has changed his prediction for the release of TESVI to 2018 and even added, "but you don't have my permission for later."

Back in E3 2016, Bethesda's Todd Howard had said that the studio had plans for the release of a sequel, but "it's a very long way off." He then says that the studio is currently working on two other large projects that are bigger than anything else that Bethesda has ever done, and gamers can be assured that they will hear about these two big games first before anything on Elder Scrolls VI is announced.

As for the two titles, fans have no clue as to what to expect. This year saw the release of Dishonored 2 from Bethesda Softworks; was that one of the titles that Howard was talking about, or is it another different thing entirely.

As of now, no official release date or development has been announced for The Elder Scrolls VI, but fans can always play the updated version of Skyrim.
