Most players do it for fun, others play it for challenge but some do it to change their lives. Here's the story of how Pokémon GO changed the life of one man by successfully losing 65 pounds in just five months of playing the game.
Pokémon GO Weight Loss Story
A Reddit post revealed astonishing life changes from one man by simply playing his favorite game, Pokémon GO. According to the poster, he initially wanted to lose weight earlier this year due to his worsening condition attributed to obesity - and also due to a woman whom he had a crush on (girls are usually the inspiration for weight loss, but not always).
The weight loss management happened way back on April but things seemed to be off - according to the user treyyates, he needed some boost; a motivation that would encourage him to go even further; to make every steps fun and joyful. And that was when Pokémon GO was officially released in July that the weight loss management changed drastically.
In just a span of five months, his body has turned from borderline obesity to straight up, healthy (pic shown down below. The poster said that Pokémon GO helped him stay motivated and focused throughout the entire workout (walking, climbing, etc.) experience. He was able to reach miles without ever getting bored as he gets to do something aside from staring blankly at the edge of the streets. He even met new people, to whom who had also helped him stay invigorated throughout the gloomy days.
He concluded the thread that despite people saying that Pokémon GO is dead, he repudiate by saying: "So while people say "Pokémon Go is dead" or isn't the cool thing to play anymore, I tell them that that's just garbage. The game has meant more to me this year than what Harry Potter has meant to other people my age for their whole lives. Because of Pokémon Go, I've started lifting weights and running every day now, and I hit two miles in twenty minutes today."
This is indeed an inspiring story to people that wanted to change their lives for the better - especially for those that are suffering from obesity, which is clearly more than just a fatal disease; as it kills the person inside, mentally and emotionally.
So with the year coming to an end, let's start 2017 with a brand new aspiration and/or continue the dedication that we've held through the past resolutions that we've had. Stay motivated and inspired! Be healthy and live freely!
