Similar to other gaming studios where they drop out their wishes for the New Year, Sledgehammer Games seems to drop some clue pointing to a possible arrival of a new Call of Duty title. Based on the sources, Michael Condrey of Sledgehammer Games sent out a mysterious tweet which included a puzzling image.
According to the report from Gamingbolt, the weapon seen on Condery's tweet looks different compared to the modern and futuristic weaponry featured in the recent Call of Duty games. As a matter of fact, the weapon seems have a World War 2 feel. This could mean that Sledgehammer Games is teasing a brand new Call of Duty title that is set to arrive sometime this year which will feature a historical gaming environment.
Apparently, Battlefield 1 succeeded on such approach where they brought their players back to the scenes of World War 1. Some believed that Activision might not fully drop their futuristic approach since the company has also received past recognition for their works on Advance Warfare which has a rich setting and tradition that could stand to be discovered and fleshed out further.
Prior to this revelation, it seems like lots of questions have emerged from the fans regarding the nature of this supposed upcoming game and how it will be introduced. However, all of these speculations remain unclear until Activision officially drops the hammer down, which is expected to happen soon. In addition, if all of these speculations are true, the new Call of Duty title is expected to arrive sometime around May 2017.
Meanwhile, it has been a success for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in the UK Sales so far as the game defends its spot on top of the charts.
