The Nintendo Switch is scheduled to release in March 2017 and there is plenty to learn about the upcoming console by just watching the teaser trailer that the gaming company released. Despite this, however, there are undoubtedly more questions milling around than there are answers. And while everything might become a little clearer come in the next few days, a theory has come up beforehand.
On January 13, Nintendo will host the Nintendo Switch Presentation, which will confirm the games that will launch with the console. In addition, it will also unveil the official release date and the retail price of the device. But MyNintendo might already have the answers.
According to IBTimes AU, MyNintendo allows players to keep their points until the end of the month. These points can then be used to avail online discounts and download digital games. However, the publication also cites a Reddit user who pointed out that recent awards all expire on March 16.
This might not give off that much, but Tech Times reports that this may mean the official release of the Nintendo Switch will be the day after the rewards expire, March 17. This is mainly due to the speculation on the Reddit thread that the reward system of the upcoming console will begin on the same day.
This theory has not been confirmed by Nintendo or any of its representatives, but it does raise speculation very close to the actual Nintendo Switch Presentation night. The event will be held in Tokyo on the evening of January 13 at 8pm PT. However, the same will be live streamed through the company's official website.
Several third-party game developers have already publicized their praises for the Nintendo Switch, which is partly why the public is so eager to get their hands on it. The device is supposed to seamlessly morph from home-docked console to portable player. Moreover, the unit can be connected to others or the controller can be split into two in order to accommodate multi players.
