Square Enix might have released “Final Fantasy XV” more than a month ago, but millions of players are still playing the said role playing video game. As a matter of fact, countless others have already completed the game but keeps on playing it. Square Enix has designed the latest “Final Fantasy” installment to be an immersive world full of numerous things to do.
Aside from the main story, “Final Fantasy XV” is incorporated with tons of things to explore especially in the open world. Noctis and his friends get to explore dungeons, go on dangerous hunts for daemons, and even go on a long unwinding road trip. The road trip encompasses the usual real-life activities such as cooking, camping, taking photos, and even fishing.
As a matter of fact, each activity stems out to several various side quests to take on, which will pretty much take up most of the gameplay time but is fun. One of the endearing side quests have something to do with fishing. Noctis will meet a fisherman named Navyth, who will give Noctis series of fishing challenges wherein the latter gets to catch rare and even legendary species of fish.
Location Of “Navyth’s Challenge”
The “Nayth’s Challenge” side quest is the third fishing challenge that Navyth will give to Noctis. This quest requires Noctis to catch the rare Vesper Gar that swims in the depths of the waters of The Vesperpool. To activate this side quest, head to the West Bank of The Vesperpool, which is located in the Cleigne region.
Navyth will be waiting in this said location, talk to him and he will hand out the challenge. Noctis must first complete the “Fishing, Naturally” side quest before taking on “Navyth’s Challenge”.
Catch The Vesper Gar In “Navyth’s Challenge”
The rare Vesper Gar fish can be caught either in the East Bank or West Bank of The Vesperpool but mostly resides in the West Bank. It appears on any time of the day and under any weather condition so feel free to catch it anytime. It is recommended though that Noctis should at least possess a fishing level of 10 in order to determine the exact location of the Vesper Gar on the map. If Noctis has a fishing level below 10, the Vesper Gar will not appear as a yellow dot, but instead as a blue dot, indicated in the map.
Equip the best possible gear for fishing but it is highly recommended to use the strongest line called Dragon’s Beard since the Vesper Gar takes a toll on the reel. The Dragon’s Beard has a durability score of 2,000 points and it is available for an affordable price either at the Burbost Souvenier Emporium, an outpost in the Cleigne region, or at Bert’s Bobbers ‘n’ Stuff at The Vesperpool. The said item is also available in JM Market in Altissia.
For a sure catch, use the baits Stinker: Marlboro, Stinker: Malbodoom, Ranker Tonberry to lure in the Vesper Gar as they are designed especially for its kind. Be sure to be patient as this fish can get very fidgety because of its strength that reaches 3.5 power despite having a stamina of only 180,000 points. Successfully catching the Vesper Gar rewards the party with 3,000 experience points (EXP), an Invincible Iron Giant, and a rare Vesper Gar fillet.
