Sony Prepping Three 5-Inch Cyber-shot Walkman Smartphones

Sony has received a lot of praise for its Xperia Z and Xperia ZL smartphones launched at the International CES this year. Now speculations suggest that Sony will soon launch a 5-inch Cyber-shot Walkman smartphone.

The smartphone space is getting flooded with handsets from various companies and it seems Sony wants to stay in contention and grab a major chunk of the smartphone market by offering more handsets.

In 2013, Sony has been successful to an extent in attracting customers to its water- and dust-proof flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z. The device has been welcomed by both smartphone enthusiasts and tech gurus alike. Now the Japan-based company wants to take a step further and launch a handset integrated with capabilities of a Cyber-shot camera and a Walkman.

PhoneArena also reports that "Apart from the xperia A, UL, and Phablet launching in summer... There are three more parallel flagships coming in Q3."

According to PhoneArena, Sony also has a 5-inch Xperia Cyber-shot smartphone in the pipeline, which will be equipped with the best camera so far in smartphones.

"With sensor size almost equal to pureview 808 and carl zeiss optics it will stand out from the rest of the crowd. Other specs will be top of the line. Also, the waistline of the phone is well within limits," reports PhoneArena.

Another Sony smartphone will be a 5-inch Xperia Walkman, which will come with an integrated amplifier chip and all other features of the Sony Walkman series.

The third handset is expected to compete with the iPhone and will have a small form factor with a small screen size with a camera and other specs the same as the Xperia Cybershot.

Sony has not confirmed any of the handsets but if rumors are true then Sony will have an impressive line-up of handsets for 2013 to cater to a large number of smartphone enthusiasts.

We will have to wait until the Japanese company sheds light on its upcoming smartphone line-up of 2013, to see what surprises it has up its sleeve.
