The MacBook Pro 2016 may have been one of the most awaited releases of 2016. However, when the laptop was finally unveiled, it became a subject for criticisms for a number of tech experts. The MacBook Pro 2016 was constantly compared to other brands and it was more or less criticized for its worth. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that all these laptops' internals can be bumped up so you can configure them to your liking just as long as you're willing to pay. Tech Radar says that the ultimate MacBook Pro can reach a price of around $4200. Needless to say, this doesn't include accessories.

Dell XPS 13 2 In 1 Overview

The Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 has a starting price of $999.99. The lowest variant of this convertible is equipped with a Core i5 processor, 4 GB RAM, and 128 GB storage. Being a convertible by nature, the Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 offers a touch-enabled device. The next price variant for this hybrid costs $1199 and it comes with a Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB storage. The $1299 version of the Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 comes with a Core i7 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB storage and the $1399 version of the laptop comes with a Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.

As a whole, both the new MacBook Pro and the Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 have some pros and cons. There's no doubt that the MacBook Pro is quite an expensive deal. For a laptop that doesn't have a touchscreen or a convertible body, it's hard to decide how worthy of your money it is. Nevertheless, when it comes to internal specs, the new MacBook Pro is quite competitive. It's even got the ports that the Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 isn't generous with.

Needless to say, the Dell XPS 13 is quite a sweet deal for anyone looking for a great hybrid laptop. It is portable, sufficiently spec'd and most importantly, it is priced reasonably. The company might have minimized the specs to achieve convertible-appropriate looks, but overall, it's still a steal deal. It even boasts of its infrared camera that makes Windows Hello recognition possible.

As a whole, choosing between the Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 and the new MacBook Pro is a matter of preference. If you are a die-hard MacOS fan, then going for the MacBook Pro is an understandable decision. However, if what you want is a modern piece of technology and a great value for money, the Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 is quite hard to resist.
