Drive App Error 805a0194 Fix On The Way From Verizon

Users of Verizon's VZ Navigator app may be experiencing a rather annoying problem with the turn-by-turn navigation on their smartphones: it doesn't work.

Many trying to access the VZ Navigator (aka Nokia Drive, et al) find a screen pointing toward the "store," which leads to an error message reading: "There is a problem completing your request. Try again later."

This is then followed up by the "Error code" 805a0194.

Users should first of all not panic. Though many of us took on our various Lumia phones through Verizon specifically for the turn-by-turn navigation device, rest assured we're all experiencing the same error message. It's not just you and your phone.

A whole string of threads is devoted to the 805a0194 error message related to the VZ Navigator or Drive app in the Nokia Support Discussions forum.

"i am unable to download the navigation app and get the error code 805a0194," user Chancer posted. "I have restarted the phone which is a Lumia 620 purchased only a day ago. A full reset has not helped ... The reason I purchased a Nokia was for the navigation. Is there anything I can do other than return the phone[.]"

Chancer's not the only one experiencing the issue, either.

"Have same problem," pandanj says. "Nokia 820 bought today. Ca not install Navigation. Whats going on ?"

"The same problem for me too.." Dileep_India says. "while trying to download the nokia drive, shows the error 805a0194..what to do..please advice by nokia...."

Does all of this sound familiar? Never fear, because Verizon is allegedly working on the VZ Navigator/Drive issue.

If you've made sure that your "cellular" settings show that your data connection is set to "on," then it's probably not a problem with you or your phone. The error is coming from Verizon's back end, and after contacting the company, we learned that a fix is soon on the way.

"It is a known issue," Verizon said, adding that though it has yet to issue a resolution statement, the 805a0194 error ("Error in initializing the app," Verizon said) the company is working on it.

"A fix for this issue is under review," Verizon said, adding it will be released soon. "We're aware of it, we're working on it, and we'll announce it soon," a Verizon representative told iTechPost.
