Super Bomberman R Coming To Nintendo Switch, Release Date Revealed

Nintendo is starting to make huge waves in the gaming industry once again, thanks to Nintendo Switch. In the past few weeks, some of the games coming to the console have been revealed. But hey, the most recent one is simply worth noting. It's no other than the Super Bomberman R.

According to Polygon, Super Bomberman R is among the latest announced title coming to Nintendo Switch. This big reveal was made by the tech giant during its livestream event called Treehouse. The company also featured the first ever gameplay of the game (see video embedded below).

Super Bomberman R, in its most organic form, is the first ever console version in the titular series. The first one dates back to 2010. The year, in particular, saw a great push when Bomberman Live: Battlefest was released. It became available to Microsoft's Xbox Live Aracade.

Super Bomberman R is simply a grid-based title, which owes its ancestry to the Bomberman title in the long-running series. The cool thing about this game is it allows a total of 8 players to go up against each other. This can be done, though, in two ways -- one being online while the other through local multiplayer. In the game, players must their best to trap their respective opponents in the grid. They also have to use as many bombs as they could to inflict damage.

It's also worth noting that Super Bomberman R isn't all about the traditional gameplay mechanics. It comes with a co-op story mode, something that can be played between two persons. Here, players will have to move through a total of 50 different stages. The game is expected to become available as soon as Nintendo Switch releases on March 3. The console is priced at $299.
