BlackBerry Q10 is one of the two devices announced by the company at the BlackBerry 10 event in January. The Canadian company did not reveal a lot of information on the QWERTY handset and now it seems that BlackBerry has priced the impending handset higher than its flagship all-touch handset, the BlackBerry Z10.
The BlackBerry Q10 is up for pre-order at UK retailer Carphone Warehouse at a steep price tag of £579.95 ($883 approximately) on Pay As You Go, which is higher when compared to the BlackBerry Z10 priced at £479.95 ($730 approximately) and the iPhone 5 (16GB) priced at £499.95 ($761 approximately).
Carphone Warehouse is also offering the BlackBerry Q10 on various UK carriers for free on a two-year contract with the starting price of £36 ($54 approximately) per month. The monthly tariff of the BlackBerry Q10 is in line with the Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 payments offered by the retailer.
"The BlackBerry Z10 has proved extremely popular and we're certain that our customers will be very keen to get their hands on the new BlackBerry Q10. Furthermore as the only retailer that stocks all the networks, we're offering customers great deals," says Graham Stapleton, Carphone Warehouse COO.
The release date of the BlackBerry Q10 is not known but it is expected that the handset will hit shelves toward the end of April.
The BlackBerry Q10 sports a 3.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 720 x 720 display resolution. The handset has a dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front snapper.
The phone will have 16GB of on-board storage with the option to expand to a further 64GB using a microSD card. The handset also has 2GB of RAM.
