Supercell recently made a significant change on how Clan Chest works and according to some complex math, it ultimately led to a much improved Legendary drop chance. Here's everything you need to know for the brand new Clan Chest in Clash Royale:
Clash Royale: Old vs New Clan Chest Explained
Supercell made a new revamp on the mechanics for the Clan Chest. These changes brought about more opportunities for clans and players to farm more cards which ultimately lead to a higher Legendary drop chance. But all of these also come with a significant drawback. To give you a much clearer contrast between the old and new Clan Chest, here are the highlights of the new changes:
Crowns
The new clan chest only requires 1,600 Crowns to farm; which means that farming the two clan chests now requires 3,200 Crowns in total as oppose to the one big clan chest that costs 3250. This also means that in a clan of 50 members, each member can farm up to 32 Crowns in three days to get the 1,600 quota.
Cards
The new clan chest now gives 270 cards which mean that over 14 days, you will have potentially earned 540 cards in total. This is a significant bump from the previous one which only offers 525 in total.
Gold
The new clan chest also gives a better Gold drop overall as each chest provides 1,620 gold double that value, you can get up to 3240 gold in 14 days. The old clan chest only provides 3150 gold. Now you may think that it only gives a little boost but in reality, you only have to farm it for a straight 3 days upon the season's reset, which is now, starts every Monday of the week.
Legendary Cards
Since the old chest only offers 525 cards, the odds in obtaining a Legendary card falls around 14.48% or 3.76 Legendaries in every 52 weeks. But now, you can get up to 540 cards in total which means that the odds have been bumped quite a bit. Following the binomial events, as explained by Orange Juice, the new clan chest now provides 3.9 Legendary within the same time period of the year.
Drawbacks
Now all of these goodies didn't come with a drawback. As mentioned earlier, the season starts every Monday and now only lasts for three days therein. This means that you can only farm for the Crowns until Wednesday. This means that you won't have the advantage of using the weekends to farm your crowns which can be significantly appalling for people that have a tight schedule over the weekdays. Albeit this drawback is situational, it can also be a serious setback for some.
