Halo Wars 2 Latest News: Blitz Beta To Give Gamers A Test Drive

Recent reports indicate that Halo Wars 2 will arrive on Xbox One and Windows on Feb. 21, 2017. But before its release, it appears that players will have a chance to try the video game. Apparently, some gamers have already tested the video game at a preview event.

Players Are Given The Chance To Test Drive Halo Wars 2

Starting on Jan. 20, 2017, players will be able to test drive Halo Wars 2 through the Blitz Beta. This Blitz mode is a battle mode in the video game that has single and multiplayer features. Some believe that this mode will change the way gamers play this real-time strategy (RTS) video game.

This Is How The Blitz Mode Works

Most RTS video games start slow. A player has to construct a base, and then builds his army. Only after all these preparations can he confidently engaged his enemy. However, destroying the enemy is entirely different with the Blitz mode.

In this mode, the gamer is immediately thrown into the battle. If he is on a 1v1 match in Halo Wars 2, he needs to defend three control points that are being attacked by the enemy. However, he has only a few units, therefore he cannot spread out his troops or they will be destroyed.

Multiplayer Matches Are Now Possible

Multiplayer matches like 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 are now possible with the Halo Wars 2 Blitz mode. In addition, while trying to acquire control point, gamers will be able to use a card deck to spawn units on the battlefield. In all these, Blitz introduces frenetic, fast-paced action to the RTS that is not normally present in this type of game.

As gamers are able to prevent these control points from going up, a score counter starts to increase. The first team that reaches 200 points, or the player who has the most points after 12 minutes, wins the match. To help gamers get up to speed with the Halo Wars 2 Blitz mode, 343 Industries has issued a tutorial video. The Beta Blitz will run from Jan. 20 to Jan. 30 giving enough time for gamers to give it a try.
