Google Glass, the forthcoming wearable computer from Google, has already received some interesting criticism from those who are wondering if the device is for "assholes," if it will disrupt our privacy while in public spaces or if it's appropriate for gathering places like bars.
One place you probably won't be seeing Google Glass being allowed, not surprisingly, is the charming neighborhood strip club.
The Google Glass — which CNBC refers to as possibly being "the final step before human-machine interaction moves under our skin" — will likely be unwelcome in a lot of places.
But being that Google Glass allows one to video-record and take pictures with a mere voice command (videos and photos then being as easily uploaded to the Internet), the idea that one will be prohibited wear the futuristic glasses in a place as private as a strip club just goes without saying (there's already enough trouble keeping out smartphone cameras).
"We've been dealing with the cellphone-videoing and the picture-taking over the years, and we are quick to make sure that that doesn't happen in the club," Managing Partner of Las Vegas' Sapphire Gentlemen's Club Peter Feinstein said.
Feinstein added that already at his club, "hosts check in any electronics a patron brings that could be used for filming."
"As the sale of [Google Glass] spreads, there'll be more people using them and wanting to use them at places such as a gentlemen's club," Feinstein said.
"If we see those in the club, we would do the same thing that we do to people who bring cameras into the club ... If they don't want to check it, we'd be happy to give them a limo ride back to their hotel."
What do you think? Are you interested in buying the new Google Glass even if there are going to be some places where the glasses won't be allowed? Or do you think this is a violation of Freedom of Speech/Press? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
