Samsung has already taken the wraps off the highly-anticipated Galaxy S4 and rumors are already circling the smartphone space regarding the launch of the Galaxy S4 Mini. A previous report indicated that the Galaxy S4 Mini launch date could be in April but a recent report suggests that Samsung has delayed the launch of the smartphone to June this year, to compete with the next-generation Apple iPhone.
"The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini launch is speculated to be in June, which is also the rumoured release date of iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S," reports IBTimes.
If rumors are to be believed and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is released in June, it will give direct competition to the next-generation iPhone 5S, which is set to be released around the same time. The Galaxy S4 Mini, just like the Galaxy S3 Mini, is expected to sport a smaller display, probably a 4.3-inch one, which will be near the iPhone 5S display.
A previous report from Android Caotic lists four different variants of the Galaxy S4 Mini:
GT-I9190 which is the standard Galaxy S4 Mini.
GT-I9192 Galaxy S4 Mini which is the dual-SIM version.
GT-I9195 Galaxy S4 Mini which is the LTE variant.
GT-I9198 Galaxy S4 Mini is reportedly headed for China.
Android Caotic also released a leaked picture that could be the Galaxy S4 Mini.
Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy S4 Mini but it should not come as a surprise if the smartphone makes a sudden appearance in the smartphone industry.
The smartphone space is flooded with handsets, and all smartphone makers want to have a bite of other companies' market share.
