Motorola X Phone Release Now Delayed, When To Expect The Handset?

Rumors of the Motorola X Phone have been flying the last few weeks. Initially, the handset was slated for a June or July 2013 release but per a recent report, the Motorola X Phone launch has been delayed to August this year.

Various rumors indicate that the Motorola X Phone will not be only one device but a line-up of smartphones.

"There was no word on why the device had been delayed, but we have heard before that Google was not 'wowed' by devices that were in the Motorola pipeline, and the X Phone is one of the last of those devices. We suspect that Google may have decided it's better to make the phone into what it wants rather than releasing something that doesn't meet internal standards. Whatever the reason, it's looking less likely that we'll see the device at Google I/O," reports PhoneArena.

Speculations suggest that the Motorola X Phone will sport a 4.7-inch display with 1280 x 768 resolution protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Rumors indicate that the Motorola X Phone will be IP57-certified, which means that the handset will be dustproof and makes the device resistant to water up to one meter depth.

The Motorola X Phone is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core Krait 400 CPU. A bigger processor will mean that the handset will consume more battery, making it imperative for the handset to have a bigger and more powerful battery. The Motorola RAZR MAXX HD has 3,300 mAh battery, which is one of the longest lasting batteries in the smartphone space, giving the smartphone 22 hours of talk time. If rumors are to be believed then the Motorola Phone X will have a bigger 4,000 mAh battery.

Motorola remains silent on the upcoming X Phone and until the company confirms the handset, we will have to take the rumors with a pinch of salt.
