OnePlus 5 Rumors, Specs, Release Date: OnePlus 5 Coming in 2017 With Snapdragon 835 And Other High-end Features

The OnePlus 3 has just arrived and yet the rumor mill is already churning out supposed OnePlus 5 features and other details.

By now, fans and tech watchers should not be surprised to why a new OnePlus device is already in the offing after a short period since its last one was launched. Consider that the OnePlus 3T was announced a mere three months after the OnePlus 3 was released.

Snapdragon 835

The buzz about the OnePlus 5 is that it will have the Snapdragon 835 under its hood. That said, the device will likely be made available after Samsung has released the Galaxy S8 which is said to have the rights to the latest chipset from Qualcomm.

Ceramic Body

The OnePlus 5 will come in a ceramic case similar to that of the Xiamoi Mi Mix. As a matter of fact, the company that will make the case for the OnePlus 5 case is the same one that did the Mi Mix. OnePlus has a history with ceramic bodies as the OnePlus X from 2015 had a limited edition ceramic version.

Unlucky Number

The reason why OnePlus is skipping the 4 and heading straight to the OnePlus 5 is because the Chinese consider the 4 as an unlucky number.

Other Specifications

The rumored OnePlus 5 will sport a 5.5-inch optic AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a 4000-pixel resolution and 16 million colors. It will also run on Android 7.0 Nougat and will come with 6GB of RAM and 64 to 128GB internal memory.

The OnePlus 5 will supposedly come with 12MP front and 16MP rear cameras along with a powerful 4500mAh battery.

According to the rumors, the OnePlus 5 will be arriving as early as April 2017 and will come at a much cheaper price than its competitors. OnePlus is fast becoming one of the better smartphone manufacturers after the positive reviews on its previous products. OnePlus is primed to continue its successful run of making devices with high-end features at lower prices with the OnePlus 5.
